Bastion is a character from the game Overwatch, created by Blizzard Entertainment.
Process
I started with a version that could be handheld and printed by anyone. Several people asked why Bastion couldn’t move, prompting me to create a larger version that was more challenging than the simple handheld one. With the larger Bastion, I transitioned from the “3ds max” modeling program to “Fusion 360” so that I could create technical drawings, making the process of creating all the parts much easier and faster.

- 128 parts (96 tank treads).
- 63 hours of print time for all parts.
- 2 hours for post-processing + installation of everything.
- 800+ hours of development, research, and prototyping for the entire concept.
