Marble Dropper is a 3D-printed marble run that securely holds together with the help of magnets. This magnetic construction provides the necessary stability to absorb and withstand the impact of the marbles.

Process

Marbles always have a fascinating allure, regardless of your age.

My first version was square in shape. It was quick to design and print, but the corners significantly slowed down the marbles, and I had to use a grid to keep the pieces in place.

The speed of the marbles was quickly diminished! That’s when I started looking at hexagonal shapes to keep the speed high for a longer duration.
Once I achieved this, I wanted to remove the grid on the ground because it felt like an additional component that wasn’t quite right. After some research, I decided to use magnets in the corners of the hexagons.
This made it much easier to make the marble run larger and wider, making it even more enjoyable!
